New Tapestry

Just wanted to share my new Tapestry! I've always been a fan of tapestries but was never able to find one that suited my personality or taste or just said something about me that I'd be willing to put in  my room. But I knew my sister wanted one so I took the opportunity on Cyber Monday to search of it. In the process of looking for one for her, I found myself one. They say you can't search for love, it comes to you. I guess that applies to room decor as well!

I love the scene and it adds a whole new vibe to my room!

Probably shouldn't be painting on my white sheets but I loved the vibe and couldn't help myself.

Here's the one I bought my sister. (Excuse her messy desk)

Well there you have it. Tapestries are a perfect way to either cover up and empty wall or transform a room. I definitely recommend them. But please do not just buy one to buy one or you will most likely regret it. If it is going up in your room it is something you will be looking at everyday. So search for one that says something about you or that you truly adore. Also pay attention to the size! Mine is really big but I had a big empty wall to cover, make sure you have space to put it.

I got both mine and my sister's from Urban Outfitters. They have some very beautiful ones so I suggest everyone at least take a look.

How to survive the darkest day of the year: Black Friday

\I can feel the holiday spirit already. A night of stuffing myself and celebrating a nice family dinner for Thanksgiving followed by pure chaos within 10 hours of each other. Black Friday: A day of rushing, spending money on unnecessary items, pushing through people, waiting in long lines, no parking, multiple coffee runs, and constant tripping over all the clothes on the floor. Doesn't that image just warm your heart? Nope. Mine either. Black Friday is extremely chaotic and it is easy to get overwhelmed by both the sales and the people. But that's what makes it so fun! It's like NYC, when describing it, you see no point for all the fuss made out of it but it it's all about the experience. Not only are you getting the best deals you will see for the rest  of the year but it's exciting to just walk through the stores.

I'm actually not the most festive when it comes to Black Friday, I actually like to wait for Cyber Monday. No lines, no hunting, nor pushing nor rushing. Everything is right at your fingertips. However, there are always positives and negatives to both. There is always the wait for all your packages to arrive and having to charge everything on your cards and not being able to try items on or seeing them in person.

Both are difficult to deal with so I have created a list of tips on surviving both and how to make the best of both days.

How to Survive Black Friday
  1. Know your sales in advance. Make sure to do your research and checkout what deals will be where and figure out what is best for you. This will avoid buying an item in one store and then finding the same item for a better deal elsewhere.
  2. Make a list of what you want. Go in already knowing you "Must-buys." That way you have your shopping priorities in mind and won't rush to pick them up last minute or hate yourself when you come home with things you didn't need and missed ut on items you did want.
  3. Make sure you are aware of the time in which deals end. Most store's have a set time for their deals. There are door busters and most will en around 10 am or 11 am. Know your times to avoid the confusion of picking out everything you want and finding out at the register that the deal has ended.
  4. Find a good shopping friend. Usually it's your best friend, sometimes your mom, sometimes even your sister. But having someone to go with you is the best way to not only be productive but make the day more of a fun trip rather than a mission for deals. There are many ups to having a shopping buddy. Company, second opinions, and help with deals.
  5. Shop early. Early bird gets the worm. Going in extra early means doorbuster deals, better inventory and extra time for shopping.
  6. Eat well. Make sure you eat well before going out shopping. You'll be tired from the lack of sleep and won't have time for a full meal before all the sales end. Most likely you will be snacking while on your trip but will not get to eat real food until your shopping journey is over.
  7. Save your place in line. Another great positive to having a friend to shop with is a solution to long lines. A great trick is having your friend wait in line while you shop and then switching. You take his/her place in line while they shop and then pay together.
  8. 40% Rule. This is a general black friday rule on clothes. Many people are fooled by the belief and great advertisement that black friday is the best day for the best deals. However, that is more true on electronics. For clothes, try to recognize 40% off of the original price deals. If it is not 40% off the total, then you will most likely find a better deal on another occasion.
  9. Coffee is your best friend. This is just a general rule of life and applies to all tips.
I hope this helps a little to make your Friday run as smooth as possible. While this may be a big day for shopping remember to keep your general shopping rules in mind. Such as, do you really love it? Are you really going to wear it? Will it matter in 5 years? Another great strategy that I use is shopping on Friday for myself and the deals I know will be best. Then, shopping for christmas gifts or family and friends on Cyber Monday. That way I can focus on what I want and try items on.

Good luck everyone! .

Daytrips: Willowwood NJ

I've had such a hectic couple of weeks! Keeping up with work, school, the gym, and friendships have been overwhelming lately and I felt that I needed a "de-stress" hour. It's good to take some time off from your strict schedule every once in a while and relax. I don't mean a crazy night out in a club in which you depend on alcohol to relieve your problems. I also do not mean a movie night by yourself in which you dig your face into a tub of ice cream. I mean time with some friends to just talk and relax for a little. This could be anything! Like shopping, getting some coffee, going for a walk, or out for dinner. I took my own advice for once and went out with two of my best friends for some coffee and a walk in one of New Jersey's most beautiful places. The Willowwood Arboretum.
This place is beautiful! Keep in mind that it is famous for all of its flowers and it is fall right now so almost everything is dead. Yet the beauty of this place still shines.
There's something about it that keeps me at peace and I definitely recommend anyone to pay a visit if you're ever in New Jersey.

Willowwod is beautiful and it is definitely hard to compare to other parks but there are alternatives considering not everyone can travel to the middle of New Jersey just to experience an hour walk through Willowwood. I definitely recommend finding a place near you where you can go and be at peace whenever you want. Like a park, hiking grounds, or an arboretum. If you are ever in New Jersey, definitely stop here and experience the beauty yourself. There is nothing like nature to bring you back down to earth.

Prince Royce Concert Outfit

I went to a concert this weekend and went through the longest, hardest process finding the right outfit. I don't think I have ever sent my best friend so many pictures before to get her opinion. After hours of agony I finally came to a decision.
The Concert was for Prince Royce ( A gorgeous Hispanic man who sings bachata music) and it was in Madison Square Garden. I needed something with a classy yet loose vibe. So I went with a shortened blazer, a strapless top, ripped jeans and wedges. Hopefully this post helps any other ladies decide on an outfit to a bachata concert.

Blazer: Francesca's
Jeans: American Eagle
Top: Mandee's
Wedges: Shi

This is my new favorite accessory! In fact, I planned my outfit accordingly around this bag because I was really excited to bring it with me to the city. It matches great with most outfits and adds some glam to any look. It's the perfect size, color and style. I recently purchased this beauty at Aldo.

I needed a necklace to fill in the empty space between the strapless top and my neck. I got this pretty gem at Forever 21, which compliments the Top.

I know wearing heels gets tiring after a while and considering I was walking around in the city, I made sure to bring along some flats for when I got tired.

My Philosophy:
"Life's too short to wear boring clothes" -unknown
I feel everyone has such a different and unique style. There will always be a way to recreate a look but an original will always be the original. I'm also very big on affordable fashion. As important as appearance can be, I see so much more use of money for other things rather than just clothes. And while other's appearance is not my concern, my own style is very important to me. Life is too short to waste it on baggy pants and sweatshirts all the time. I want to look good the day I meet the love of my life or the day an event changes my life forever.

New Fall Boots: MK

It is so hard to find the perfect pair of boots for the fall. Around this time of the year I grow an obsession with one specific pair of boots for the season. I struggle to find my perfect match every year, and this year I had to settle because I could not find "the ones." I actually did find a pair that caught my eye by Michael Kors but had to keep in mind that as a college student I could not be spending hundreds of dollars on shoes. Luckily, I recently received them as a gift and had to share my favorite new item in my closet.

These boots speak for themselves but what's best about them is that they can be combined with almost any look, especially in the fall! I definitely recommend to anyone getting a pair of boots along this style. I have always been a fan of boots with a slim calf, they seem to have more class to them but are usually more expensive because of the way they are fitted. Here are a couple of boots with the same color and style but more affordable towards a budget such as my own college budget.

Macy's: Franco Sarto

Good luck to everyone looking for "the ones." I'll still be here enjoying mine until next season.

Lush- All Natural Cosmetics

Having the right cosmetics is very important. Everyone has a different style and knows what works for them. But sometimes, even the most expensive and well known cosmetics can hurt your skin. Makeup generally has harsh chemicals that are heavy on your face, which is why it feels replenishing when you finally go to wash it all off at night. Sometimes, the best way to go even if it is only every once in a while is all natural cosmetics.
I've recently grown an obsession to an all natural cosmetic store called "Lush." Not only is their merchandise great, but there are a couple of different characteristics that separates Lush from other beauty products. First of all, they are all natural and freshly handmade, so you don't have to worry about harming chemicals. Secondly, they are against animal testing, which personally makes me feel better. And lastly, they are big on charity and donate a percentage of the profit on a few items.
I've tried several of their products and have loved them all. I do however have a few select favorites:

Bath Bomb: "Rose Queen"
-Life is rosy when you wallow in pink and petals
I am very big on ways to de-stress yourself. So letting out a fragrant in a bath after a long day is a must. This bath bomb's fragrance makes me feel like a queen upon a million rose petals.

Bubble Bar: "Rose Jam"
A rose scented gourmet treat with coconut oil jam in the middle
As relaxing as fragrances can be, bubbles just top off the perfect bath.

Lip Scrub: "Bubblegum"
My boy lollipop
It's that season. Chap sticks, lip gloss and lip sticks. With so much product on your lips, a lip scrub can be well overdue.

Bubble Bar: "Amandopondo"
The delicate, creamy lemon and rose one
The ultimate experience, cleansing, moisturizing and bubbles.

Skin Conditioner: "Ro's Argan"
I am a huge fan of cocoa butter and this really moisturizes my skin and is even soothing.

Lip Tint: "Latte"
For sheer bronze kisses
This is the in between of lip gloss and lip stick. Lip stick can sometimes feel too heavy and finding the right shade can be very hard especially depending on age. Lip gloss can easily look very immature. This bronze not only smells great but adds a subtle tint to your lips.

These are just a couple of my current favorite all natural products from Lush.
